The Winston-Salem Community Action Coalition is a project based at the Pro Humanitate Institute at Wake Forest University. Established in 2016, the coalition aims to eradicate poverty in Winston-Salem by building capacity in local nonprofits and civic organizations. The Pro Humanitate Institute partners with AmeriCorps*VISTA to host four national service members, who focus on housing, employment, financial literacy, or data and assessment. The community partners for this project include Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth Co., Urban League of Winston-Salem, Experiment in Self-Reliance, and Pro Humanitate Institute of Wake Forest University.
