Project Pumpkin is a signature student-led community building event that was started at Wake Forest in 1988 to bring together the campus and Winston-Salem communities. Each year around 500 children from local schools and after school agencies are invited to Hearn Plaza to participate in a fall Halloween themed festival. Each year students, faculty and staff collaborate to develop booths for trick-or-treating, carnival games, clowns, entertainment as well as educational activities.
Children ages 4-10 years old who participate via one of our local schools or community partners. Faculty and staff are also invited to accompany their children to Project Pumpkin.
