ACC Advocacy Trip

ACC Advocacy Trip

The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Advocacy Trip is a political engagement opportunity for students to learn about the lobbying process, research and prepare briefs, and meet with members of Congress. In 2012, Wake Forest joined with other ACC institutions to participate in the inaugural trip to Washington, D.C. Students advocated for increased federal funding for financial aid and undergraduate research. In debrief, student participant Christopher Iskander, ‘13, said, “It was a privilege to see firsthand how Congress works. While it was frustrating at times, I walked away with a better understanding of the political process.”
