The Campus Kitchen at Wake Forest (CKWFU) is preparing to celebrate it’s tenth year as a member of the national The Campus Kitchens Project. Building off the foundation laid by the HomeRun organization, the Campus Kitchen took form in 2006 and has since grown to partner with over ten community agencies dedicated to strengthening community and alleviating poverty in Winston-Salem. CKWFU is committed to redistributing food from areas of high access to low access across the city to help address food insecurity. To achieve this mission, the organization relies on a 40 student leadership team to prepare and serve close to 1,000 meals each month! Since 2006, CKWFU has engaged over 10,000 volunteers logging over 33,000 hours to redistribute nearly 400,000 pounds of produce and prepared food within and across our community.
Please save the date for Friday, November 11th at 4 p.m. for a reception to commemorate this milestone. Further details, schedule, and a formal invitation to follow.
