Wake Forest students joined PHI’s Director of Academic and Community Engagement Shelley Sizemore for the Summer Nonprofits Immersion Program (SNIP). SNIP is a summer immersion program that brings together undergraduates at Wake Forest University with community partners to enhance both the learning of the student and the capacity of a local nonprofit partner.
Students began with an intensive workshop to engage the non-profit world through academic and community engagement sessions. The week after, the students started their internships at 12 nonprofits, supplemented with weekly full-day Friday seminars that involve guest speakers, engagement with shared text (The revolution will not be funded: beyond the non-profit industrial complex), and site visits to students’ internship sites.
